Day 2: We continue our journey through the French countryside, crossing into Switzerland to arrive at our hotel late afternoon.
Day 3: This morning we head to Brienz for free time. Enjoy the attractions and maybe treat yourself to a cruise on the lake. There is also the Rothorn Bahn Railway (cost not included), a nostalgic steam cogwheel railway that starts at five hundred and sixty six feet above sea level and takes just one hour to push powerfully up to the Brienzer Rothorn.
Day 4: After breakfast, we travel to the town of Meiringen. This is where the Reichenbach Falls Funicular Railway begins to climb to one of the highest waterfalls in the Alps, with five cascades and an overall height of six hundred and fifty feet. Once you are back in Meiringen, it's time to board the Brunig Panorama Express. The train will take you to Lucerne, a colourful lakeside resort in its superb picturesque setting. Your return journey to the hotel will be by coach.
Day 5: This morning we set off to Lauterbrunnen where you will board the Jungfraubahn, a cogwheel train which will take you up the Kleine Scheidegg to a height of nearly seven thousand feet. Later, a train will take you down to Grindelwald, an alpine village popular as a base for mountain climbers.
Day 6: Enjoy a free day to explore what Interlaken has to offer. Enjoy the shops, cafes and gardens of this elegant town, or perhaps a day of rest and relaxation.
