Upon arriving in Taunton via Berrys Coaches, passengers disembarking at the TA1 2LR drop-off point in the Heron Gate / Hankridge area will find the Tacchi-Morris Arts Centre conveniently close. The arts center is located approximately 1.5 miles north of this drop-off location.

Taking a local taxi or driving takes about 5 to 7 minutes, while walking directly north along Bridgwater Road (A38) takes roughly 30 to 35 minutes.

To reach the venue on foot or by car:

Exit the drop-off area onto Hankridge Way and head north toward the roundabout.

Continue straight onto Bridgwater Road (A38) heading north toward Monkton Heathfield.

Turn right onto School Road.

The Tacchi-Morris Arts Centre will be located on your left, adjacent to Heathfield Community School, with dedicated on-site parking available.

The Tacchi-Morris Arts Centre opened its doors in January 2000 as a landmark Millennium project, established to bring a dedicated multi-purpose performing arts facility to Taunton and the surrounding rural communities of Somerset.

The venue owes its creation to a major, visionary donation from local dancer and philanthropist Kathleen Tacchi-Morris, alongside financial support from her husband Brian Morris and a National Lottery grant through Arts Council England. Kathleen Tacchi-Morris, a passionate advocate for community performing arts and international peace, envisioned a creative space where professional touring theatre could exist side-by-side with student performance and community arts education.

Built as a joint initiative between the Tacchi-Morris Trust, Somerset County Council, and Heathfield Community School, the venue features a state-of-the-art 250-seat auditorium and professional dance and drama studios. Over the last quarter-century, the Tacchi-Morris Arts Centre has established itself as one of Somerset’s premier community cultural hubs, hosting an eclectic year-round program of contemporary dance, drama, comedy, live music, and youth community productions.
