Coach Trips To The D-Day Story

Book A Trip To The D-Day Story With Berrys Coaches

The D-Day Story in Portsmouth is the only UK museum dedicated to the momentous events of 6th June 1944. The museum is home to LCT 7074, the last preserved Landing Craft Tank that took part in D-Day, landing on Gold beach and carrying 10 tanks. Now you can explore the museum’s two tanks – a Sherman Grizzly and Churchill Crocodile, while also seeing what life would have been like onboard for its crew. Inside, the museum’s collection tells the story of those that were involved through genuine wartime artefacts and personal possessions, as well as captivating audio visual displays. Finally, there is the 83 metre Overlord Embroidery, which tells the story of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy in 34 hand stitched panels. Designed by Sandra Lawrence to commemorate all those that took part it was created by the prestigious Royal School of Needlework.

The D-Day Story – where the epic is made personal and the personal made epic.
